2. Ah Yat Seafood

Today i got go explore back to my heritage with my family. i usually have this tradition with my family that every Sunday we must go out, eat Chinese food and talk about our lives specifically within that week. My dad took us to this restaurant near Plaza Senayan called Ah yat seafood( not sure whether it is the correct one) in the Kompleks Gelora Senayan. Its adjoined to a golf driving range which is quite funny in my opinion but in a way strategically smart. I start eating my all time favorite Chinese food, called Chong sam, its like this Char siu meat that is wrapped in flour and they created this white wrapping that is poured in their local soy sauce. What i love most about the food is that the texture is very soft that goes very well with the combination of the meat. The meat can be picked, i choose prawns and chicken, either way its the matter of your preference but seriously i think "chong sam" is one of those good Chinese meal that you ought to try. I also tried various dumplings like Hakkau, Siomay and steam buns. They all taste pretty much good, these three foods are the most common Chinese cuisines that we all love particulary when you eat it with your family. I like the steam buns the most because the flour that had been fermented with yeast has grown and created this soft texture on the outside filled with the juicy char siu meat. The Hakkau had a feather like skin which is soft and usually is filled with prawns inside. The siomay is the one that tasted most like eating a chicken, its juicy yet tender. Overall i like dumplings because since i was small i eat these kind of cuisines so i am pretty much used to it. My dad also ordered duck because he knows that i am a fan of it. He ordered the broth duck with tofu, egg and this Chinese sweet sauce, i love duck meat seriously its less heavier than beef but juicier than chicken. The taste is very refreshing and you can never get sick from eating it. I also ate the tongue of the duck, maybe for some of you this is disgusting but really its good! You should give it a courage and just try it once. This is the thing with Chinese cuisine, they served a large amount of portion so i cannot really mentioned all of it, i am just gonna high light the ones that i think are scrumptious. I think i also had a Lumpia and Jiaozi which are like pretty much good because the combination of crunchy outside texture with the meat( The one that i had was prawn) is perfect and glazed with mayonnaise. The taste was divine! Of course i still ate some vegetables, i had what was called as baby kailan with this sticky sauce that tasted pretty good. To sum up, the Chinese cuisine may occasionally serve a large proportion of food with unusual body parts but hey whats a food travel without tasting the unknown taste that may turn to be after all good right? Yes i ended up pretty good because the price wasn't so bad considering the amount of food that i ate. Or at least that was what my Dad told me. Next stop more more Indonesian Local food, i gotta find some ones! Wish me luck!
