Bali Trip 5 "Warung Italia"

I just had my tanned in Bali and seriously my eating schedule is messed up, my friends and i had lunch at around 5 in the evening. I wasn't that hungry though because i really wanted to just have a sip of margaritas and just lay down to watch the sunset. Oh well, since the majority was really hungry, my friend recommended an Italian restaurant in Seminyak and after around 20 minutes searching (considering that we were lost too) we ended in the place. At first i had my doubts, when i heard "Italian" in my head, i imagined it to be more classy and expensive but instead it was this dodgy local restaurant with a bad taste of music because well the music was like cheap dance song and "dangduts" which i am not a fan of, but then i had my hopes because i saw this gigantic oven that they use to make the pizzas traditionally which is great because i love the authenticity and the respect for continuing tradition. We ordered two types of pizza, one was the mozzarella pizza which basically is the classic pizza filled with cheese, tomato and meat. The other one, i didn't remember because i had to do nature's call, well don't blame me for being human. Basically the other pizza was just as similar as the mozzarella except that it was more vegetarian and a different meat was placed in the mid layer of the pizza. On top of it was put with various type of vegetables and sliced tomatoes. Amazingly it was really good, the pizza is thin and for the price they are giving us, its really cheap but was much more worth it because the taste is scrumptious. The crust was soft, meat was tender and the cheese is tickling in your tongue which makes me want to grab more. Personally, i like the mozzarella one, but if you prefer vegetables than meat i suppose you would choose the other but hey at least our pizzas selections were balanced. For my pasta i ordered the ravioli which is they type of pasta that is composed of a filling sealed between two layers of thin pasta dough. The word ravioli is of the Italian verb riavvolgere ("to wrap"), the one i ordered is the bolognese, the sauce is sweet and salty which makes me more hungry as i grab more, the filling is spinach which is my favorite vegetable. Overall my experience here was entertaining, the price is great even though the atmosphere wasn't so great but at least i had good laughs with my friends and could just relax with a couple of cigarettes.

Bali Trip 4 "Gelato Ice Cream"

Let me tell to you all of my dessert lovers out there, for me eating "desserts" is the same as inhaling air. That's just because desserts are simply so enjoyable that you cannot get enough from it. Well in Bali i had an ice cream, i know right why am i writing on something as simple as ice cream but maybe you all should should continue reading it because the ice cream that i ate is a different one, well i know for you sweet tooth out there you probably already know why i chose this particular brand of ice cream but bear with me for those newcomers who will soon become one of us. I ate a vanilla ice cream from Gelato, and as you might have noticed Gelato is an Italian word meaning "frozen". I do not get why sometimes people would have the misconception for the word of "gelatin" which is for another different use of purpose because a Gelato ice cream is fully made out of milk, cream, sugar, eggs and occasionally fruits as their main ingredients. Anyways Gelato is a good brand of ice cream because of its popular use of lower butterfat content. When a normal ice cream would use about 14%, a Gelato ice cream only uses 4-8%! See and the taste is just as exquisite and lighter than a normal ice cream but still overall sweet enough that you can enjoy it. The vanilla ice cream had this milky taste which i love very much! So overall i think Gelato is a good choice for ice cream because not only it is lower on the fat content which is healthier it also taste good.

Bali Trip 3 "Made's Warung"

After a nice morning at the beach, my friends and i went to the Kuta square and decided to try the Made's warung which is a local restaurant in Bali that everyone said when i was in Bali, i needed to go there. From what i have heard the place had stand for over 40 years since 1969 and since then the placed had become a place for locals, tourists and expats. The place was very local, with wooden and bamboo chairs which really shows our local heritage. The food that i ordered was the special menu of 1/2 nasi campur 1/2 gado gado. The nasi campur consists of rice, abon( meat that has been pressed, soften and fried), tofu, eggs, sambal and fish. The gado gado is basically vegetables with peanut sauce, i love peanut sauce, dont ask me why but the taste is addicting. Anyways i think the food was really good that comes with a very good price.

Bali Trip 2 "HARDROCK CAFE"

So my friend took me to the hard rock cafe in Kuta, Bali for my second last day in Bali, if i am correct. I'm sure you all know what a hard rock cafe is like given that it is already widely internationally accepted by everyone. What i love most about the place is that it has this American vibe which i have missed so much and the people there are very welcoming and provides a great service. My dad also love this place because of the very same reasons, anyways we bought the famous brownies that they have and since i wasn't so hungry, i only tried a couple of bite and trust me when it comes to desserts and such, i am very critic in determining whether its good or not because i my self have a sweet tooth and have tasted quite a lot of desserts and learned to differentiate whats good or whats not, its not about bragging, its just that i tasted a lot of desserts and may i say proudly that this brownies is really good. I mean to start off, the layers of chocolate they put in it, the outer upper layer if filled with some sort of chocolate mousse with the middle inside layer which the mixture of the chocolate brownies with the mousse which is like a heaven for all chocolate out there. You can also asked to heated which will melt the chocolate mousse and trust me when you eat it in the morning, it taste like little drops of heaven.

Bali Trip 1 "SIP WINE BAR"

So for my first night in Bali, We went to this restaurant in Seminyak called "SIP", the place was more like of a ations bar instead of a restaurant. As always the atmosphere was more a lot like a French restaurant with a bar and i always have this obsession for a typical French restaurant with a cozy atmosphere, dim lightning, red color background and the whole nice decorations to give this romantic feeling that what gives an edge for me in a restaurant. Since i was so full because of the loads of food that i had in the afternoon time which i will add later because right now i do not have the pictures yet. Anyhow i ordered the lychee martini, the apple tart with vanilla ice cream. The lychee martini could have been better, i mean it was the average kind of martini that i usually tasted, but only it was a little sweeter with the after taste of lychee in it. Maybe i thought it was better because of the whole "I'm in Bali" thing but then the whole decorations made it a plus point that you can enjoy with your friends for the night. The apple tart however was a treat! The taste was divine i can tell you that, cause first of all the tart was really crispy with the sweet apple inside, the taste of the apple is sweet, surprisingly given that i always have tasted an apple tart that taste quite bitter but this one tasted really sweet. Because the apple tart was served with the vanilla ice cream and may i say that it was so good, the light vanilla milky taste that is sweet, addicting and it was as if that i can taste it as many times and not feel sick. Seriously my first night in Bali turns out pretty good, even though i may turn fat at the end of my trip, at least i will feel good about my selves, till then, be writing to you again.
